Dr. Zoltan J. Cendes
CEO of Totteridge
Dr. Zoltan Cendes is the founder of Ansoft Corporation, which was founded in 1984 and acquired by ANSYS in 2008. He served on the ANSYS Board of Directors and as President of Ansoft LLC. He has made significant contributions in the area of finite element modeling of electromagnetic fields.
Dr. Cendes received his MS and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering from McGill University. In 1982, he joined the faculty of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh,PA, where he was a Professor until 1996.
Dr. Cendes received the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Distinguished Achievement Award in 2008 and the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Application Award in 2012.
He began his passion for golf in 2008, and started his friendship with Tom Tanto at a dinner party for Hungarian emigrants.
Tom Tanto
President of Golf Course Operations
Tom Tanto is an icon in the golf industry across the world. Shortly after graduation with a BSCE from the University of Pittsburgh in 1967, an opportunity to build a local golf course in Murrysville PA caught Tom’s interest.
From that beginning, Tom founded Tanto Construction & Supply and the rest is history. He has built and worked on over 400 golf courses around the world. From Augusta to Dubai to Moscow, he has worked on 30 of the top 100 courses in the world. At Augusta National Golf Club, he has done work on course projects for the past 30 years.
In 2003, he sold his company, but continued on as a consultant to the new owner of Tanto Irrigation LLC. Meanwhile, he founded Tanto International Golf Limited and is involved with course projects in Dubai, Hungary, and Jordan.
Tom has worked and consulted with many of the best-known golf course architects including Rees Jones, Robert Trent Jones Jr., Tom Fazio, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. He has acted as a consultant nationally and internationally for the Toro Company for the past 30 years.
Susan Tanto
Advisor of Totteridge Properties
Susan Tanto has extensive experience in golf administration. She served as GM of Meadowink Golf Course in Murrysville from its founding in 1970 until selling the course in 2003.
During that period, she was President of the Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners Association and Founder of the Keystone Premier Golf Association. Subsequently, she was invited to serve with the United States Golf Association on committees for Public Golf, Handicap Procedure, and the Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. In 2013, Mrs. Tanto was presented the Ike Grainger Award that recognizes volunteers who have given 25 years of service to the Association.
In conjunction with her husband, Tom Tanto, Susan was actively involved in the creation of Totteridge Golf Course and Residential Community beginning in 1999. With the recent acquisition of the assets of Totteridge Limited Partnership, Mrs. Tanto joins Totteridge Properties in the capacity as advisor to the operations.
She remains a player and a student of the Rules of Golf.
Patrick G. Cendes
President of Real Estate
Patrick G. Cendes is President of Real Estate at Totteridge Properties, and has developed Totteridge to become Westmoreland County’s fastest growing residential community. He has served in various roles for both public and private companies since 2007. He has experience in sales and operations ranging from a large commercial lending group at BB&T to being on the executive team at ScriptRx, a medical software startup company. He currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Capital Foundry, a Pittsburgh based investment bank.
Patrick holds a Bachelors of Science in Analytical Finance from Wake Forest University. He also completed his MBA at Corvinus University of Budapest with a concentration in finance and marketing.
Patrick is fluent in Hungarian and is an avid golfer.
