Overview

Totteridge Golf Course and Residential Community is located northeast of Greensburg, Pennsylvania in Westmoreland County. Totteridge is a premiere destination for golf, and avid golfers identify the design and layout as being the best public course in western Pennsylvania. Annually, Totteridge hosts over 30,000 players including local and regional tournaments and golf outings. It has established a reputation for exemplary course conditioning and great service because it is dedicated to creating exceptional experiences for its clients. The Manager of Food & Beverage services at Totteridge will work in a harmonious relationship with the talented Golf Course Superintendent, PGA Golf Professional and Office Manager.

The clubhouse at Totteridge is simple and intimate and meets the needs of its day-to-day operations. The restaurant and bar seats 72 persons. Kitchen facilities support a golf course pub menu and bar. A new mid-course facility located behind the 10th tee provides a full range of F&B services for golfers on the go. To accommodate group events of 40 to 120 persons, Totteridge utilizes a 30’ x 40’ party tent complete with banquet tables & chairs, lights, and a speaker system, and located adjacent to the clubhouse. An outside caterer prepares and delivers food served to large group events. In 2022, food trucks will become a weekly staple for golfers and community residents May to September. Totteridge also operates an on-course beverage cart. All these entities fall within the jurisdiction of the Manager of Food & Beverage services.

Experience Required

Applicants must provide verifiable evidence of education, experience and/or a work history that demonstrates the ability to meet or exceed every element in the Job Summary.
 
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in hospitality industry service, including management experience
- Minimum 2-year Culinary or food service management degree desirable
- Current ServSafe® and RAMP certifications
- Working knowledge of POS systems, including restaurant management software
- Ability to forecast food and beverage needs.
- An attentive listener: able to understand and clarify concerns raised by employees and customers.
- Able to communicate effectively (verbally and written), with employees and customers in an attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner
- Great at task & skill delegation
- Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Skilled in anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems
- Keeps high standards of staff member appearance and grooming

Essential Responsibilities

Golf is the reason customers come to Totteridge. Food and beverage services complement the main attraction. The purpose of this department is to provide what golfers expect to make their round more enjoyable. The golf operation at Totteridge is seeking an experienced, motivated, hands-on manager who will relish the challenge and rewards of being active in a
dynamic environment, and, with support from other department heads and management, has responsibility for:

- Establishing clean and efficient operations of the restaurant, bar, cabin, outings, food trucks, and beverage cart
- Creating a culture that foster’s customer satisfaction
- Being aware of clientele wants and needs
- Participating in hiring new staff members and redirecting returning staff members
- Providing ongoing training and evaluation of employee performance based on Standards of Practice and job tasks
- Monitoring F&B department performance with respect to profitability
- Forecasting, planning, sourcing, ordering food supplies for all F&B service entities
- Building positive relationships with food and beverage vendors
- Informing management of F&B issues when they arise
- Maintaining F&B inventories and creating actions for loss prevention
- Preparing and managing work schedules for multiple food entities
- Maintaining consistency of product served as it relates to seasonings, portions, and appearance
- Assuring compliance with DEP health and sanitation regulations, PLCB laws, OSHA, RAMP and ServSafe® certifications
- Being open to performing other responsibilities as requested by Management such as assisting with marketing events
